Penta hosting School Safety Training Event with NTAC and US Secret Service

On Wednesday, November 27, Penta Career Center will be hosting a School Safety training event in conjunction with the National Threat Assessment Center and the US Secret Service.
With HB 123 having been introduced focusing on Threat Assessment, this workshop will give districts and law enforcement the latest information from the national experts.  The Governor has also established the Ohio School Safety Center within the Ohio Department of Public Safety – Division of Homeland Security.
This event is FREE.  Registration is on a first come first served basis.
This conference will address the following topics:
  • Identifying students who may be exhibiting concerning behaviors
  • Gathering information on the student’s behaviors of concern
  • Assessing whether students pose a risk of violence or other unwanted behavior
  • Developing risk management strategies and interventions for at risk students
  • Interactive case studies

Training will be based on operational research conducted by the USSS NTAC and will offer best practices on preventing incidents of targeted school violence. The workshop will focus on how to proactively identify, assess, and manage individuals exhibiting concerning behavior, based on USSS methodologies.
